Volunteers

We welcome volunteers at Beckford.  There are many opportunities for you to offer your services.  The following are some suggestions for volunteer activities:

  • PTA
  • School Site Council
  • English Language Learner Council
  • Read to and with children
  • Help with the carpool line
  • Assist in the office
  • Assist your child's teacher

All volunteers must comply with LAUSD policy (see link in right hand column).  The volunteer application is available online (see link in right hand column).  We need to have a current TB clearance and a volunteer form on file.  LAUSD holds free clinics where immunizations are offered, including the Mantoux TB test. You will also need to be fingerprinted, which will be arranged for you by the school office. The fingerprinting process is only necessary once: it is good for classroom volunteering the rest of your student’s time in the LAUSD education system.

Volunteers must have a current TB Test, be fully vaccinated and boostered, and fill out the online volunteer application to be approved by LAUSD.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering!

The last day to submit an application to serve as a volunteer for the 2022-2023 school year is Friday, May 26, 2023 . The Volunteer Management System is currently undergoing upgrades and will open for summer school and fall volunteering very soon. Please return for future updates.
